Placements24 is seeking a highly skilled Remote Procurement Specialist to manage strategic sourcing initiatives for international operations. This fully remote role is based in South Africa and focuses on procuring critical components and services across global markets.

You will identify, negotiate with, and onboard suppliers, conduct market analysis, model total cost of ownership, and ensure compliance with trade regulations. Collaboration with R&D, engineering, and operations is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, International Business, Engineering, or related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years in strategic sourcing with global procurement focus.
• Proven track record negotiating and managing international supplier contracts.
• Strong understanding of global supply chains, trade, and logistics.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute global sourcing strategies for technology and indirect spend.
• Conduct market research, supplier analysis, and cost modeling for international markets.
• Lead complex negotiations with global suppliers, securing favorable terms and SLAs.
• Identify, assess, and onboard new suppliers worldwide, complying with ethics and quality standards.
• Manage strategic relationships with international suppliers to drive performance and collaboration.
• Identify and mitigate risks in the global supply chain to ensure continuity.
• Collaborate with international R&D, Engineering, and Operations to align procurement with roadmaps.
• Monitor global commodity markets and geopolitical factors affecting sourcing.
• Ensure procurement activities comply with international trade regulations and company policies.
• Prepare detailed reports on savings, supplier performance, and sourcing activities.
