Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Senior Aerospace Structural Engineer for a fully remote role focused on the design and analysis of advanced aircraft structures. You will ensure structural integrity, safety, and performance on global programs, applying expertise in FEA, materials science, and fatigue/fracture mechanics.

In this role you will lead advanced analyses, select materials, develop validated models, and generate technical reports.

Qualifications

• Master's or PhD in aerospace/ mechanical engineering with structures specialization.
• 7+ years in aerospace structural design and analysis.
• Proficiency in FEA software (NASTRAN/Patran/ANSYS/CATIA).
• Strong knowledge of composites and metallic structures; failure mechanisms.

Responsibilities

• Perform advanced structural analysis using FEA to assess stress, strain, vibration, and buckling.
• Design and optimize aircraft structural components and assemblies for strength and durability.
• Conduct fatigue, fracture, and damage tolerance analyses.
• Select aerospace materials (composites, alloys) for structural use.
• Develop and validate analytical models with test data.
• Generate detailed technical reports and design documentation.
• Collaborate virtually with design teams across time zones.
• Contribute to new design methodologies, tools, and processes.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.
