Job summary

Fynity is seeking a Senior React Native Developer to lead mobile development in South Africa. You will own cross-platform apps for iOS and Android, shaping technical decisions and delivering polished experiences for a large user base.

You will drive architecture discussions, work with GraphQL APIs and AWS services, and manage end-to-end mobile releases, testing, and performance optimization.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in mobile development.
• Strong React Native expertise.
• Experience delivering production mobile apps.
• Experience with mobile CI/CD and App Store/Play release processes.
• Knowledge of mobile testing frameworks and test-driven development.
• Experience working with GraphQL APIs.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
• Willingness to take ownership and contribute to architecture

Responsibilities

• Designing and developing cross-platform applications using React Native
• Building consistent, responsive experiences across iOS and Android
• Leading architectural discussions and contributing to technical decisions
• Building and maintaining GraphQL APIs using AWS AppSync
• Integrating services including AWS Lambda, DynamoDB, S3 and Cognito
• Managing application state and maintaining clean, predictable data flows
• Taking ownership of builds, signing and releases through the Apple App Store and Google Play Store
• Writing and maintaining unit, integration and end-to-end tests
• Identifying and resolving performance issues involving rendering, networking and memory usage
• Working closely with product managers, designers and backend engineers
• Reviewing new tools and technologies that could improve the mobile development stack

Up to R100,000 per month, depending on experience

We are working with an established international technology business looking for a Senior React Native Developer to join its growing engineering team in South Africa.

You will take ownership of high-quality mobile applications used across iOS and Android, helping shape technical decisions and delivering polished, reliable experiences for a large user base.

You will work across the full mobile development lifecycle, from architecture and feature development through to testing, optimisation and release.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Designing and developing cross-platform applications using React Native
• Building consistent, responsive experiences across iOS and Android
• Leading architectural discussions and contributing to technical decisions
• Building and maintaining GraphQL APIs using AWS AppSync
• Integrating services including AWS Lambda, DynamoDB, S3 and Cognito
• Managing application state and maintaining clean, predictable data flows

We would like to speak with experienced mobile developers who have:

• Strong commercial experience developing applications with React Native
• A deep understanding of mobile development across both iOS and Android
• Experience delivering and supporting production mobile applications
• Experience with mobile CI/CD and App Store and Google Play release processes
• Knowledge of mobile testing frameworks and test-driven development
• Experience working with GraphQL APIs
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills
• The confidence to take ownership and contribute to architectural decisions

Experience with AWS AppSync, Lambda, DynamoDB, S3 and Cognito would be particularly valuable. However, candidates with strong React Native, GraphQL and transferable AWS experience are also encouraged to apply.
