Job summary

Tumaini Consulting is partnering with a leading South African infrastructure and construction group to recruit a Senior Quantity Surveyor for large-scale building projects.

You will oversee pre- and post-contract QS activities, prepare and review estimates and bills of quantities, monitor costs and cash flow, and identify commercial risks to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor-level QS degree is required.
• 8+ years of experience as a Quantity Surveyor in construction.
• Proven experience with JBCC, NEC and other contracts.
• Experience in cost management, contract administration, valuations, variations and final accounts.

Responsibilities

• Manage pre- and post-contract quantity surveying functions on building projects from tender stage through to project completion.
• Prepare and review cost estimates, bills of quantities, tender documentation, valuations, payment certificates, variation orders, financial reports and final accounts.
• Monitor project costs, budgets, cash flow and financial performance, identifying commercial risks and implementing effective cost-control measures.

Are you an experienced Quantity Surveyor looking to advance your career with one of South Africa’s leading infrastructure and construction groups?

Our client is a well-established construction company with extensive experience delivering major infrastructure and building projects across South Africa and beyond. They are looking for a skilled Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their team and drive the successful commercial delivery of large-scale building projects.

Requirements:

· BTech/ BSc in Quantity Surveying

· 8+ years of experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the construction industry

· Proven track record of successfully delivering large-scale building projects

· Strong knowledge of JBCC, NEC and other relevant construction contracts and procurement methods

· Proven experience in cost management, contract administration, valuations, variations and final accounts.
