Placements24 is seeking a highly experienced Lead Quantity Surveyor for a prominent construction firm in Rustenburg, North West. You will oversee cost management across large-scale projects from inception to completion, ensuring budgets and contract compliance.

Key duties include detailed cost estimation, contract administration, change control, and financial reporting to senior management. A SA construction background and leadership experience are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management or related field.
• SACPVP registration is advantageous.
• 7+ years of quantity surveying with lead/senior experience.
• Strong knowledge of contracts (FIDIC, JBCC) and tendering processes.
• Proficient in QS software and MS Office.
• Excellent analytical, numerical and negotiation skills.
• Strong leadership and team management abilities.
• Ability to handle multiple projects under pressure.
• Excellent communication and reporting skills.
• Deep understanding of the SA construction industry.

Responsibilities

• Develop detailed cost estimates and bills of quantities for construction projects.
• Manage and administer construction contracts, ensuring compliance with terms.
• Monitor project expenditures, track costs, and prepare financial reports for senior management.
• Identify and quantify variations, manage change orders, and assess financial impact.
• Negotiate with contractors and suppliers to secure competitive pricing and favorable terms.
• Conduct feasibility studies and cost-benefit analyses for proposed projects.
• Advise on procurement strategies and contract negotiation.
• Ensure accurate valuation of work-in-progress and manage interim/final accounts.
• Mitigate financial risks and identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Maintain relationships with clients, contractors, and stakeholders.
