Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor for major industrial projects in Richards Bay, KwaZulu-Natal. You will manage costs from initial estimates to final accounts, tendering, contract administration, and cash flow across several large ventures.

The ideal candidate has 7+ years in industrial construction, SACQSP preferred, and strong skills in FIDIC/JBCC contracts, cost estimating software, and MS Office. Relocation to Richards Bay is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying or related construction discipline.
• SACQSP registration preferred.
• Minimum 7 years as a Quantity Surveyor, with large industrial project exposure.
• Strong knowledge of contract forms (FIDIC, JBCC) and their application.
• Proficiency in cost estimating software and MS Office Suite.
• Excellent analytical, numerical, and problem‑solving skills.
• Strong negotiation and communication abilities.
• Ability to manage financials for multiple projects concurrently.
• Understanding of project management principles in construction.

Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate cost estimates and budgets for large-scale industrial projects.
• Manage tendering process, including tender documents and bid evaluation.
• Administer contracts, ensure compliance with terms and conditions.
• Monitor and control project costs through lifecycle; manage variations.
• Prepare and submit interim and final payment applications and manage cash flow.
• Conduct feasibility studies and cost-benefit analyses.
• Negotiate with contractors and suppliers for cost efficiency.
• Identify and mitigate financial risks in projects.
• Prepare detailed financial reports for stakeholders and senior management.
• Ensure all financial aspects comply with regulations and company policies.
