Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a highly skilled Quantity Surveyor to manage costs and contracts for multiple construction projects in the Mossel Bay area. The role focuses on financial management from initial cost estimation through final accounts, with a strong emphasis on procurement strategy and contractual obligations.

The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, deep knowledge of construction economics, and excellent negotiation and communication skills to drive profitability and client

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying or Construction Economics is required.
• Professional registration with SACQSP or RICS is required.
• 7+ years post-qualification experience as a Quantity Surveyor preferred.
• Strong understanding of building contracts and construction law essential.
• Proficiency in cost estimating software and MS Office suite.
• Excellent analytical, negotiation and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed cost estimates and feasibility studies for new construction projects.
• Manage tendering processes and evaluate bids.
• Administer construction contracts including variations, claims and final accounts.
• Monitor project costs and report variances.
• Negotiate with contractors, subcontractors and suppliers for favorable terms.
• Advise on procurement strategies and contract administration.
