You will oversee cost estimation, contract administration, procurement, and financial control to ensure profitability and project viability; professional registration and SA procurement practices are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Quantity Surveying or Construction Economics.
• At least 10 years of progressive experience in quantity surveying within the construction industry.
• Experience in leading and managing a team of surveyors.
• Expertise in contract law, FIDIC conditions, and South African procurement practices.
• Strong analytical and financial modelling skills, with proficiency in relevant software.
• Professional registration (e.g., Pr.QS) with a recognized professional body is essential.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of quantity surveyors, overseeing their development and workload.
• Prepare accurate cost estimates, bills of quantities, and tender documents for new projects.
• Manage procurement, tendering, negotiation, and contract awards for materials and subcontractors.
• Administer construction contracts, including variations, claims, and final accounts settlement.
• Monitor expenditures against the budget, identify variances and risks.
• Conduct site visits to verify valuations and ensure cost-control measures are effective.
