The role requires a sharp analytical mind, strong negotiation skills, and proven budget management across diverse projects. MRICS is desirable, with 7+ years in quantity surveying and a solid grasp of contract law and cost control.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics, or related field.
• MRICS or equivalent qualification is highly desirable.
• Minimum 7 years of experience in quantity surveying within the construction industry.
• Strong understanding of contract law, risk management, and cost control techniques.
• Proficiency in cost management software and remote communication/reporting.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, tender, and deliver contracts and manage sub-contractor agreements.
• Analyse construction methods and advise on the best options for the project.
• Provide advice on procurement strategy, risk management, and value engineering.

About the Role

Our client is seeking a meticulous and experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their fully remote construction consultancy. You will play a pivotal role in managing all costs relating to construction and civil engineering projects, from initial calculations to final figures. This position requires a sharp analytical mind, excellent negotiation skills, and the ability to manage budgets effectively across multiple projects concurrently in a distributed work environment. You will be responsible for ensuring that projects remain financially viable and that costs are controlled throughout their lifecycle, contributing to the overall profitability and success of our client's endeavors.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare, tender, and deliver an array of construction contracts and manage legal aspects of the project, including managing sub-contractor agreements.
• Analyse construction methods and help the project team to select the most suitable options.
• Provide advice on the procurement strategy, risk management, and value engineering.
• Manage all costs relating to the building or civil engineering projects, from initial calculations to final costs.
• Carry out feasibility studies and financial appraisals of potential projects, advising on the best value engineering options.
• Measure and value the work done, certify payments to subcontractors, and manage claims and variations.
