Placements24 is seeking a Senior Quality Assurance Inspector for on-site operations in Stellenbosch. The role focuses on ensuring aerospace components meet stringent quality, safety, and regulatory standards across all stages of production.

The ideal candidate has 6+ years in aerospace quality inspection, strong drawing interpretation, and hands-on experience with CMM, optical comparators, and NDT methods. AS9100/ISO 9001 proficiency and proactive problem-solving are essential.

Qualifications

• Technical qualification or certification in Quality Assurance, Aerospace, or a related field.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience as a Quality Inspector in the aerospace manufacturing sector.
• Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
• Proficiency with various inspection tools and techniques, including CMM, optical comparators, and NDT methods.
• Strong understanding of AS9100 or ISO 9001 quality management systems.
• Experience with root cause analysis methodologies (e.g., 8D, 5 Whys).
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills for collaborating with cross-functional teams.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a manufacturing environment.

Responsabilités

• Perform detailed inspections of incoming materials, in-process components, and finished aerospace parts using precision measuring instruments and testing equipment.
• Verify that all manufacturing processes and products conform to approved specifications, blueprints, and quality standards (e.g., AS9100).
• Conduct internal audits of quality management systems, production processes, and documentation to ensure compliance.
• Investigate quality discrepancies, non-conformances, and customer complaints, identifying root causes and recommending corrective actions.
• Document inspection results accurately and maintain comprehensive quality records.
• Collaborate with production, engineering, and R&D teams to resolve quality issues and improve processes.
• Ensure all inspection and testing equipment is calibrated and maintained in accordance with established procedures.
• Participate in supplier quality assessments and provide feedback.
• Train and mentor junior quality inspectors and production personnel on quality standards and procedures.
• Stay current with industry best practices and regulatory requirements in aerospace quality assurance.

About the Role
