Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Senior Full Stack Developer to join our Pietermaritzburg team in a hybrid role. You will design, develop, and deploy web applications using Python back-end (Django/Flask) and React front-end, collaborating across product, design, and engineering teams.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in full-stack development, strong Python and React skills, and expertise in SQL databases. Remote work is blended with in-office collaboration at our Pietermaritzburg hub, with ample

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
Minimum 5 years of professional full-stack development experience.
Strong Python proficiency with Django or Flask.
Extensive experience with React and modern frontend tooling.
Solid SQL and database design knowledge.
Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) is a plus.
Docker familiarity and Git version control proficiency.
Excellent problem-solving and collaborative communication skills.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain full-stack web applications using Python backend and React frontend.
Write clean, well-documented code following best practices and standards.
Collaborate with product managers and designers to translate requirements into features.
Implement and manage PostgreSQL/MySQL databases and RESTful APIs.
Develop automated tests and participate in code reviews; mentor juniors.
Troubleshoot defects and optimize performance and security.
