Job summary

LexisNexis Intellectual Property Solutions seeks a Senior Software Engineer to lead scalable data platforms, pipelines, and infrastructure powering critical business outcomes. You will collaborate with analysts, data scientists, and engineers, driving technical excellence and AI-assisted development practices.

You will mentor team members, own data system design decisions, and shape the Data Engineering function while delivering reliable, high-impact solutions.

Qualifications

• Proficiency with Python for building scalable data apps and pipelines.
• Strong SQL skills with experience in large datasets and schemas.
• Experience designing APIs and services with FastAPI or similar.
• Background with Databricks and Terraform in data workloads.
• Significant data engineering or backend experience spanning end-to-end systems.
• Ability to mentor engineers and lead technical initiatives.
• Experience using AI-assisted development tools to improve productivity.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, build, and maintenance of scalable data pipelines and backend services using Python.
• Write efficient SQL for extraction, transformation, and analysis and set standards for queries and schemas.
• Develop and maintain APIs and services (e.g. FastAPI and SQLAlchemy) to expose data to consumers.
• Own technical design decisions for data systems balancing scale, reliability and maintainability.
• Collaborate with analysts, scientists, and engineers to deliver reliable data solutions.
• Drive infrastructure for data workloads (containers, orchestration, provisioning).
• Monitor and improve performance and reliability; lead incident response and root-cause analysis.
• Mentor engineers, lead code reviews, and raise the technical bar.
