About the Role

This role delivers culturally safe, clinical and professional assessments and interventions, using a Social and Emotional Wellbeing (SEWB) framework.

Working with forensic clients to provide holistic, trauma-informed, and evidence-based care, with a strong focus on mental health, and alcohol and other drugs – particularly for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. You will play an integral part of a multidisciplinary health team providing clinical services at Alice Springs Correctional Centre (ASCC) and a nearby low-security prison reintegration centre. Being the Senior Psychologist, you will provide expert advice to the multidisciplinary team on program and clinical issues.

Responsibilities

1. Provide leadership, supervision, mentorship and education to staff using evidence-based concepts and research.
2. Follow defined service quality standards, work health and safety policies and procedures relating to the work being undertaken to ensure high quality, safe services and workplaces.
3. Foster a positive workplace culture through exemplary leadership practices and role modelling behaviour.
