Job summary

Willis Towers Watson in South Africa is seeking a Senior Property Placement Broker to design, place and negotiate complex Property Insurance programmes for large corporate, mining and multinational clients.

The role provides strategic risk transfer advice, develops bespoke policy wordings and supports growth by cross-selling across SA operations. Strong insurer relationships and leadership are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10-15 years of insurance broking experience.
• Expertise in placing large corporate and multinational Property programmes.
• Strong relationships with SA insurers and understanding of international markets.
• Proven negotiation and senior-stakeholder influencing abilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead a co-ordinated placement strategy for complex and high-value Property risks with wholesale and facultative reinsurance brokers.
• Develop and maintain senior relationships with local and international insurers.
• Keep updated on market developments and solutions to identify optimal client solutions.
• Support revenue growth through cross-selling and participation in new business opportunities.
• Act as lead technical resource on complex Property claims and coverage discussions where required.
• Collaborate with regional and global Willis colleagues on multinational programme design and placement.
• Drive placement excellence and continuous improvement within the Property Practice.
• Contribute to the development of proprietary Willis products, policy wordings and market solutions.
• Contribute to business development activities, including client pitches, RFP responses, prospect meetings and market presentations.
• Continuous development of technical skills.
• Provide technical leadership, coaching and mentorship to brokers and account executives.
