Ngaanyatjarra Pitjantjatjara Yankunytjatjara (NPY) Council was founded and is still led, governed and directed by women from the NPY region.

The Tjungu (together) team provides support, advocacy and case management to ngaltutjara tjuta – people with disabilities, elderly people, their carers & families.
The Tjungu philosophy and principles support the right of older Anangu and Yarnangu, and people with disabilities to live in their communities so that family and relationships can be maintained and spiritual and physical connections with country are continued.
The Tjungu Team offers advocacy, accessible information, equipment, respite care and other support tailored to the needs of clients residing in 26 Aboriginal communities across South Australia, Western Australia, and the Northern Territory.
The Senior Project Officer Elder Care Support will assist Anangu Aged Care Connectors (ACC) in identifying clients and navigating access to local aged care support services. The role involves helping clients understand their aged care entitlements, including My Aged Care registration, contractual arrangements, and costs. It also includes preparing Elders and their families for plan reviews and outcomes.
The role requires liaising with aged care Assessors to support Elders throughout the assessment process. Key work practices underpinning this role are cultural safety and trauma-informed practice.
The Senior Project Officer will work closely with Anangu Aged Care Connectors to support clients and families.
You should have relevant tertiary qualifications or extensive experience in administration, community development, or related human services. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential, with the ability to build trust within the community and demonstrate understanding of person-centered care and trauma-informed practice.
