A leading company in regional development is seeking a Senior Project Manager to oversee the implementation of industrial zones and special projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for project management processes, stakeholder coordination, and developing operational systems, requiring a degree in engineering and extensive management experience.
Position : Senior Project ManagerObjective : To accelerate the implementation of regional industrial zones and corridors through partnerships, managing processes for the uThukela SEZ, related Industrial Parks, and Special Projects to promote regional development.Qualifications : A Degree in the Built Environment (Civil / Structural Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Architecture, or Construction Project Management).
Professional registration with ECSA, SACQSP, SACPCMP, or SACAP is required.Experience : 8-10 years in management roles involving similar work, with strong knowledge of land development, large-scale industrial projects, and stakeholder coordination.
Proficiency in project management software and Microsoft Office is essential.Responsibilities : Develop operational systems and quality standards for project management.Lead detailed investment project applications for infrastructure development.Develop turnaround strategies to address delays in infrastructure delivery.Lead special projects, procurement, and risk management efforts.Manage township establishment, master planning, and authorization processes.Provide technical input for strategic planning and institutional management.Oversee project progress, reporting, and stakeholder communication.Develop success metrics, identify risks, and manage change factors.Guide project steering committees and ensure quality deliverables.Technical / Functional Competencies : Planning, cost management, contract administration, project leadership, risk mitigation, analytical problem solving, and consulting skills.Behavioral Competencies : Decisiveness, communication, stakeholder management, collaboration, accountability, initiative, and results orientation.
