Job summary

SARAO in Cape Town seeks a senior Project Manager to deliver Engineering, Technology Research and Development initiatives for major Radio Astronomy facilities. You will lead cross-functional teams across planning, execution, and closure, ensuring alignment with NEC4, FIDIC, and GCC standards.

The role requires a strong background in engineering project management, contract oversight, and stakeholder engagement.

Qualifications

• Minimum 9 years in engineering and construction project management or 13 years with a BTech background.
• Professional registration (ECSA/PM) preferred.
• Experience in contract management under NEC, FIDIC, GCC or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional project management services to SARAO program and senior management.
• Lead project initiation, planning, execution, and closure across engineering R&D projects.
• Coordinate geographically distributed and remote teams and ensure governance adherence.
