Overview

An established and leading company in Cape Town is looking for someone with a solid IT background who has moved into project leadership and can confidently manage large-scale projects. Experience with D will be a strong advantage, but strong delivery skills and a track record in IT project management are what will stand out.

This is a 12-month contract and is based in Cape Town.

You’ll be trusted to
  • Shape project plans that balance scope, timelines, resources, and budget
  • Lead delivery teams, ensuring milestones are achieved and risks are managed proactively
  • Build strong relationships with stakeholders at different levels, both locally and remotely
  • Oversee resource allocation, guiding teams and resolving challenges as they arise
  • Keep quality and governance front of mind, ensuring outcomes meet expectations
  • Monitor budgets closely, identifying opportunities for efficiencies
  • Provide leadership that motivates and enables teams to perform at their best
  • Drive lessons learned into future initiatives, supporting continuous improvement
The background we’re looking for includes
  • A degree or diploma in IT, with a recognised project management certification (PMP or similar)
  • 10+ years of IT experience, including at least 5 years in software development before moving into project management
  • Strong knowledge of SDLC processes, from concept to deployment
  • Hands-on experience applying both Agile and traditional methodologies, with exposure to Scrum preferred
  • Familiarity with tools such as JIRA and Confluence
  • Experience in financial services or insurance will be an advantage
