We are seeking a Senior Project Manager for an initial 12-month contract, onsite in Cape Town. The role requires expertise in finance and project management related to Financial Consolidation, Financial Planning, and Analytics.
The assigned project manager will be broadly responsible for:
- Generation of Business Requirements - Collaborating with stakeholders to enable business analysts to gather and document detailed business requirements.
- Transformational Delivery - Leading the transformational delivery of the finance capabilities in scope.
- System and Data Delivery - Overseeing the implementation of systems and data solutions that support finance reporting, planning, and analytics.
Key Responsibilities:
- Establish necessary workstream governance and structures.
- Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, and budgets.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
- Manage risks, issues, actions, budgets, and dependencies effectively.
- Ensure optimal resource utilization.
- Maintain timely and effective communication with stakeholders.
- Monitor and report on project progress and performance.
- Define and manage the project according to PM methodology, governance, and standards.
- Ensure alignment between the Business Case and project delivery.
- Manage transition from project implementation to ongoing BAU support and maintenance.
- Oversee procurement, vendor contracting, and delivery management as per contractual agreements.
- Utilize project management forums for reporting, escalation, and decision-making.
- Establish agile teams, sprints, ceremonies, and cadences.
- Track progress using tools like burndown charts, velocity, and backlog management.
Requirements:
- Grade 12.
- Relevant IT or Project Management qualification.
- More than 8 years of experience managing multi-million-rand projects, reporting to Programme Management or Executives.
- Experience in Finance Reporting and Transformation, including management reporting, planning, forecasting, investor relations, and statutory/regulatory reporting.
- Experience managing projects in the financial services sector, especially insurance, investments, and lending.
- Experience managing outsourced projects in a multi-vendor environment.
- Proven track record in managing business transformation; experience in infrastructure, technical, or data projects is a plus.
