Job description

The Position reports to the First Line Manager / Sales Manager and involves the sales of pharmaceuticals in the field of Established Brands / Woman's Health within the Southern Africa Private market.

You will be responsible for maintaining and increasing sales of the assigned product portfolio.

You will engage strategically with target customers to create sustainable value for patients and healthcare providers through accessible and innovative solutions, aiming to increase or maintain prescriptions and drive script fulfillment at pharmacies.

Part of customer visits in this role can be conducted remotely.

This role may be based in multiple locations within the territory, depending on business needs.

Responsibilities include:

  1. Building or maintaining positive relationships with targeted customers and their staff to ensure satisfaction, trust, and loyalty to Organon products. Responsible for achieving or exceeding sales targets for the assigned portfolio.
  2. Creating and maintaining strong partnerships by understanding each customer's values and needs, driving customer satisfaction and loyalty.
  3. Managing interactions that are meaningful, scientifically relevant, and tailored to each customer based on their needs.
  4. Understanding customer needs related to patient management, attending company meetings, technical presentations, and briefings.
  5. Collaborating with colleagues to plan approaches and develop effective business plans for sales within the territory.
  6. Planning work schedules, recording customer interactions on the CRM platform, and being prepared for country trips and conferences.
  7. Maintaining professional conduct in line with company policies and standards.
  8. Reporting adverse experiences, product quality complaints, customer feedback, and any suspicious activities such as counterfeiting or tampering to the designated contact.
  9. Assisting with organizing medical education sessions for healthcare professionals.
  10. Managing budgets and submitting expenses in accordance with company policies.
  11. Staying updated with clinical data, interpreting, and discussing it during healthcare professional interactions.
  12. Monitoring competitor activities and providing feedback to sales management.
  13. Regularly updating KPIs and undertaking tasks or projects as directed by management.
  14. Detailing ORGANON products to healthcare professionals within targeted territories.
  15. Using the RepWise platform for direct selling and participating in training and meetings, virtually or in person.
  16. Managing territory effectively, utilizing data analysis to implement measurable interventions to increase sales and address opposition strategies.
  17. Possessing knowledge of product science, clinical trials, and therapeutic concepts.

Qualifications include:

  • Bachelor's or higher education in a related field.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Approximately 6 years of successful pharmaceutical sales experience, preferably in Established Brands / Woman's Health in the Southern Africa private market.
  • Strong communication skills, entrepreneurial mindset, and professional appearance.
  • Alignment with Organon’s principles and values.
  • Understanding of market targeting and segmentation, digital literacy, adaptability, and perseverance.
