Job Description
- Research & development of beverage innovation offerings for commercial promotion based on global beverage trends, applicable to South African and Africa beverage markets
- Actively research and introduce new cost-saving raw materials in recipe formulations and / or introduce recipe cost-saving strategies and optimization within fruit juice legislation parameters, with on-going focus on sustainability goals
- Manage annual SAT's cost GL account for Laboratory Maintenance and consumables within budget
- Product development of beverage products and ranges according to customer briefs
- Lead the product development lifecycle from ideation to production.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including design, engineering, and marketing.
- Conduct market research to inform product development strategies.
- Manage product testing and iteration processes to ensure quality and performance.
- Develop and maintain documentation for product specifications and requirements.
- Provide technical expertise and support to team members and stakeholders.
- Stay updated on industry trends and technological advancements
Qualifications & Experience
- BSc Food Science / Food Technology
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in product development within beverage industry
- Good knowledge of chemical food ingredients and how they work and function in protein systems, laboratory practices, micro-organisms, microbiological tests & results as well as chemical analysis such as Brix, pH, acidity & viscosity
