impact.com is seeking a Lead Data Scientist specializing in Product Data Quality to join our Cape Town Data Science team. You’ll own the most complex, highest‑leverage work in product data quality: catalog hygiene, transaction matching, classification modeling, GPID coverage, and deduplication, while mentoring senior scientists and setting technical standards.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in data science, ML engineering, or analytics focused on product data or marketplace analytics.
• Experience leading complex data initiatives and driving production ML from research to deployment.
• Strong software engineering fundamentals (code quality, testing, version control, CI/CD).
• Deep experience with data quality, entity resolution, and deduplication at scale.
• Proven ability to design and ship data pipelines and monitoring systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead classification and GPID-related modeling to improve search and recommendations.
• Own data quality analytics for catalog and transaction data, identifying root causes and remediation steps.
• Develop production-grade ML models and analytics pipelines with scalable architectures.
• Mentor Senior scientists and set technical standards across the team.
• Collaborate with Product and Engineering to align data quality improvements with business goals.
• Build dashboards and monitoring to track KPIs like match rates and GPID coverage.
