Job Description

This vacancy is based in the SAT Finance team reporting to the Finance Manager and will be responsible for products migrating onto the SAT platforms. The role oversees ledger maintenance, reconciliations, internal reporting, and interactions with Segment finance teams and other stakeholders. The candidate will be accountable for achieving results through others over periods of 3 months to a year, focusing on governance, compliance, management dashboards, financial data interpretation, and implementation of accounting processes, systems, and controls for a product. A solid financial grounding is required.

Responsibilities include delivering financial reporting and control outputs to internal stakeholders, including monthly, quarterly, and annual reports, along with all relevant control accounts.

Financial Analysis
  • Analyze business, financial, control, and operational data to identify trends and opportunities.
  • Provide commentary on financial results and implications and advise on corrective actions.
  • Generate financial information.
Financial Control
  • Analyze and report on variances.
  • Ensure controls operate effectively.
  • Identify and investigate reconciling items.
  • Understand root causes and coordinate remedial actions.
  • Test and sign off on remedial actions before implementation.
  • Drive and ensure the successful delivery of remedial actions within timelines.
  • Own key accounting processes, champion their implementation and improvement.
  • Review team work for control effectiveness.
  • Participate in projects.
Governance and Compliance
  • Maintain operational governance and compliance.
  • Monitor and improve internal controls.
  • Liaise with auditors and manage external audit interactions.
Management Reporting
  • Generate management reports on controls, processes, and financial position.
  • Engage with business unit managers on financial outcomes.
  • Assist and train segment finance teams.
  • Support actuaries, auditors, and other parties needing information.
Team Effectiveness
  • Manage and develop staff, ensuring accountability and performance over 3 to 12 months.
  • Create a high-performance environment, motivate staff, and manage work planning and performance.
  • Select and develop potential staff to sustain service delivery.
Skills & Qualifications
  • CA Qualification with at least 5 years’ relevant experience, preferably in financial services.
  • Skills include accounting, auditing, financial analysis, internal controls, management reporting, and strategic planning.
  • Additional skills: analytical thinking, budget management, data analysis, computer literacy, data modeling, solution analysis.
Competencies

Education
