Placements24 seeks a highly experienced Senior Process Engineer specializing in scale-up to join our Kimberley team. You will translate lab-scale processes into robust, safe commercial-scale operations and own scale-up initiatives across R&D to production.

Bring deep chemical engineering knowledge, hands-on experience with pilot plants, and a proven track record in scale-up. This onsite role offers growth and leadership opportunities within process engineering.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical Engineering.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in process engineering, with a significant focus on process scale-up.
• Proven experience scaling up chemical processes in pilot plants and commercial facilities.
• Strong knowledge of chemical reaction engineering, thermodynamics, and fluid dynamics.
• Familiarity with process safety management (PSM) principles during scale-up.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and project coordination skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the scale-up of new and existing chemical processes from lab/pilot scale to commercial production.
• Identify and address potential scale-up challenges related to reaction kinetics, mass transfer, heat transfer, and mixing.
• Develop process flow diagrams (PFDs), Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), and equipment specifications for large-scale operations.
• Perform process hazard analyses (PHAs) specifically related to scale-up risks.
• Collaborate closely with R&D, design engineering, and operations teams throughout the scale-up process.
• Optimize processes for efficiency, safety, and economic viability at commercial scale.
