About the Role

Our client is actively seeking a highly skilled Senior Process Control Engineer for a fully remote position, to support their operations based near Mahikeng . In this role, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing advanced process control strategies to enhance plant performance, safety, and efficiency across various chemical processes. You will collaborate with on-site engineering and operations teams to troubleshoot control system issues and drive automation initiatives. This role demands a deep understanding of control theory, instrumentation, and distributed control systems (DCS), combined with the ability to work autonomously and effectively in a virtual environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement advanced process control strategies (e.g., MPC, PID tuning, regulatory control) for complex chemical processes.
• Configure, test, and commission Distributed Control Systems (DCS) and Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs).
• Develop and maintain instrumentation standards, specifications, and loop diagrams.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to process control systems, instrumentation, and automation hardware/software.
• Collaborate with process engineers and operations personnel to identify opportunities for process optimization through advanced control.
• Provide remote technical support and guidance to site-based teams, ensuring the reliable operation of control systems.
