Position : Senior / Principal Project Manager – Aircraft Development

Incomar is an aerospace and defence company based in Centurion, South Africa.

We are continuously expanding our specialised product development and flight operations capabilities.

The group was established in South Africa, with its origins in military aircraft weapons, avionics integration, and flight testing.

The company is well established in the local and international industry, with a strong capability in several specialist areas, including:

• Systems Design, Development, and Integration.
• System Testing on a range of platforms / products.
• Product Development.
• Flight Test Execution and Support.

Incomar is looking for a motivated individual to take up a Senior or Principal Project Manager role within the company on aircraft and avionics development projects.

This individual will be part of a team consisting of personnel from Projects, Engineering, and Flight Operations departments to help manage and achieve project objectives.

The individual will also be required to lead and mentor junior project managers within the department.

Required Qualifications : Applicable Bachelor's Degree or Technical Qualification. A Bachelor's Degree in Aeronautical Engineering is preferred.

Required Skills and Experience :

• 10+ years of experience in an aerospace / aircraft / avionics project environment.
• Experience in aircraft and / or aircraft systems development related programmes.
• Experience in a technical management / leadership position.
• Knowledge or experience of project management software tools, methodologies, and best practices.
• Knowledge or experience in budgeting and budget management.
• Knowledge or experience in risk and change management.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in and lead a multi-disciplinary team.
• Ability to interact with internal and external parties.
• Ability to work within set budgets and timelines.
• Proficient in MS Office.

• Ensure tasks are delivered on time, within scope and budget.
• Participate in project planning and monitoring activities, compile and present project reports to stakeholders including schedule, budget, risk, resource, and technical aspects.
• Coordinate with cross-discipline team members to meet project requirements and deadlines.
• Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors for task execution.
• Meet with project team members to identify and resolve issues.
• Manage relationships with all stakeholders of assigned tasks.
• Perform risk management.
• Manage projects and tasks according to Incomar processes, including planning, execution, monitoring, control, reporting, and closure.
• Manage project and task deliverables and quality standards adherence.
• Measure task performance using appropriate systems, tools, and techniques.
• Conduct post-task evaluations to identify successful and unsuccessful elements.
• Lead and mentor junior project managers.
• Report and escalate issues to management as needed.
