Position: Senior/Principal Project Manager – Aircraft Development

Incomar is an aerospace and defence company based in Centurion, South Africa. We are continuously expanding our specialised product development and flight operations capabilities. The group was established in South Africa in 1999, with its origins in military aircraft weapons and avionics integration and flight testing. The company is well established in the local and international industry, with a strong capability in several specialist areas, including:

1. Systems Design, Development, and Integration.
2. System Testing on a range of platforms / products.
3. Product Development.
4. Flight Test Execution and Support.

Incomar is looking for a motivated individual to take up a Senior or Principal Project Manager role within the company on aircraft and avionics development projects. This individual will be incorporated into a team consisting of personnel from the Projects, Engineering and Flight Operations departments to help manage and achieve project objectives. The individual will also be required to lead and mentor more junior project managers within the department.

Required Qualifications:

1. Applicable Bachelor's Degree or Technical Qualification. A Bachelor’s Degree in Aeronautical Engineering is preferred.

Required Skills and Experience:

1. 10+ years of experience in an aerospace/aircraft/avionics project environment.
2. Experience in aircraft and/or aircraft systems development related programmes.
3. Experience in a technical management / leadership position.
4. Knowledge or experience of project management software tools, methodologies and best practices.
5. Knowledge or experience in budgeting and budget management.
6. Knowledge or experience in risk and change management.
7. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in and lead a multi-disciplinary team.
8. Ability to interact with internal and external parties.
9. Ability to work within set budgets and timelines.
10. Proficient in MS Office.

Responsibilities:

1. Ensure that tasks are delivered on time, within scope and budget.
2. Participate in project planning and monitoring activities.
3. Compile and present project reports to internal and external stakeholders including schedule, budget, risk, resource and technical aspects.
4. Coordinating with cross-discipline team members to make sure that all parties are on track with project requirements, deadlines and schedules.
5. Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors for the execution of tasks.
6. Meeting with project team members to identify and resolve issues.
7. Manage the relationship with all stakeholders of allocated tasks.
8. Perform risk management.
9. Manage projects and tasks in accordance with Incomar processes, including planning, execution, monitoring, control, reporting and closure.
10. Manage project and task deliverables and quality standards adherence.
11. Measure task performance using appropriate systems, tools and techniques.
12. Conducting post task evaluation and identifying successful and unsuccessful task elements.
13. Manage, lead and mentor other younger project managers within the department.
14. Report and escalate issues to management as needed.
