Job Title: Senior Post Production Producer
Reporting Structure: Managing Director
Key purpose of your job:
To manage post production with a focus on budget control, overall profitability, and growth. This involves ensuring expectations are managed and delivered, building lasting client relationships, and motivating and developing a team.
Primary responsibilities:
- Manage the day-to-day running of the broadcast studio and control the effective use of resources.
- Ensure all projects are produced to high standards, delivered on time, within budget, and meet contractual obligations.
- Draw up relevant documentation such as timelines, budgets, schedules, lists, templates, and briefs.
- Manage project finances, including quotes, estimates, budgets, cost tracking, profitability, financial reporting, POs, and reconciliations.
- Follow approval protocols and stay updated on internal accounting procedures, adapting approaches as needed.
- Scope each job thoroughly, clarify requirements during preproduction, and define briefs for accurate budgeting.
- Review briefs, obtain clarity, and ensure all supporting documentation and assets are provided in the correct format.
- Check that supplied assets meet QC standards before work begins and final materials pass QC before upload.
- Prepare project schedules clearly communicating tasks, responsibilities, and timelines.
- Analyze historical timesheets to improve time estimates and identify bottlenecks.
- Monitor timelines and deadlines, keeping the team ahead of schedule when possible, and inform stakeholders of changes.
- Apply logical troubleshooting to root-cause analysis and solutions.
- Maintain professional communication standards and keep channels open with clients and internal teams.
- Build strong relationships with stakeholders and suppliers, providing input on internal processes.
- Identify new business opportunities within existing client base.
- Manage team tasks, leave schedules, and enforce processes and procedures.
- Coordinate system maintenance and upgrades with the Production Engineer.
- Ensure gear is cataloged, inventory is maintained, and requests for new equipment are submitted timely.
- Control data, ensure proper file management, naming conventions, and upload of completed jobs.
- Maintain a central filing system, upload files regularly, and prevent backlogs.
- Stay updated on industry developments and advocate for business improvements to stay competitive.
- Seek ways to enhance client satisfaction and deepen relationships.
