Job description

Job Title: Senior Post Production Producer

Reporting Structure: Managing Director

Key purpose of your job:

To manage post production with a focus on budget control, overall profitability, and growth. This involves ensuring expectations are managed and delivered, building lasting client relationships, and motivating and developing a team.

Primary responsibilities:

  1. Manage the day-to-day running of the broadcast studio and control the effective use of resources.
  2. Ensure all projects are produced to high standards, delivered on time, within budget, and meet contractual obligations.
  3. Draw up relevant documentation such as timelines, budgets, schedules, lists, templates, and briefs.
  4. Manage project finances, including quotes, estimates, budgets, cost tracking, profitability, financial reporting, POs, and reconciliations.
  5. Follow approval protocols and stay updated on internal accounting procedures, adapting approaches as needed.
  6. Scope each job thoroughly, clarify requirements during preproduction, and define briefs for accurate budgeting.
  7. Review briefs, obtain clarity, and ensure all supporting documentation and assets are provided in the correct format.
  8. Check that supplied assets meet QC standards before work begins and final materials pass QC before upload.
  9. Prepare project schedules clearly communicating tasks, responsibilities, and timelines.
  10. Analyze historical timesheets to improve time estimates and identify bottlenecks.
  11. Monitor timelines and deadlines, keeping the team ahead of schedule when possible, and inform stakeholders of changes.
  12. Apply logical troubleshooting to root-cause analysis and solutions.
  13. Maintain professional communication standards and keep channels open with clients and internal teams.
  14. Build strong relationships with stakeholders and suppliers, providing input on internal processes.
  15. Identify new business opportunities within existing client base.
  16. Manage team tasks, leave schedules, and enforce processes and procedures.
  17. Coordinate system maintenance and upgrades with the Production Engineer.
  18. Ensure gear is cataloged, inventory is maintained, and requests for new equipment are submitted timely.
  19. Control data, ensure proper file management, naming conventions, and upload of completed jobs.
  20. Maintain a central filing system, upload files regularly, and prevent backlogs.
  21. Stay updated on industry developments and advocate for business improvements to stay competitive.
  22. Seek ways to enhance client satisfaction and deepen relationships.
