About the Role

Our client, a well-established asset management firm, is seeking a highly skilled and results-oriented Senior Portfolio Manager to join their investment team in Upington, Northern Cape. This senior role is responsible for developing and implementing investment strategies, managing client portfolios, and driving investment performance in line with client objectives and market conditions. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of financial markets, asset allocation, and investment analysis, coupled with a proven track record of success. This position requires a dedicated individual who can provide strong leadership and make critical investment decisions. The role is integral to our operations in the Northern Cape , requiring a consistent presence in our Upington office.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute investment strategies for various asset classes and client portfolios.
• Conduct in-depth market research, economic analysis, and security selection.
• Manage portfolio construction, asset allocation, and risk management.
• Monitor portfolio performance, identify trends, and make necessary adjustments to strategies.
• Meet with clients regularly to discuss portfolio performance, investment strategy, and market outlook.
• Collaborate with research analysts, traders, and other investment professionals.
• Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and internal investment policies.
• Generate investment reports and presentations for clients and internal stakeholders.
• Stay informed about global economic and market developments affecting investment decisions.
• Mentor junior investment team members and contribute to the firm's investment philosophy.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related quantitative field.
• A CFA designation is strongly preferred.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in portfolio management, investment analysis, or a related financial services role.
• Proven track record of managing investment portfolios and achieving strong investment returns.
• Deep knowledge of various asset classes (equities, fixed income, alternatives) and investment strategies.
• Strong analytical, quantitative, and decision-making skills.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build client trust.
• Proficiency in financial modeling, valuation techniques, and investment management software.
