Job summary

iStaff (Pty) Ltd in Stellenbosch is seeking a qualified and licensed plumber to join our facilities team. You will install, maintain and repair plumbing, drainage and hot water systems across hospitality environments, ensuring minimal disruption to guest operations.

The role requires at least 5 years post-qualification experience, leadership ability, and strong knowledge of regulations; CMMS experience is a plus. You will supervise junior staff and contribute to project work and upkeep.

Qualifications

• Qualified and licensed plumber with a trade certification.
• Minimum 5 years post-qualification experience.
• Strong knowledge of commercial plumbing systems, pumps, hot water systems.
• Proven leadership and supervisory experience.
• Knowledge of plumbing regulations, OHS, and safe working practices.
• Strong communication, planning, and organisational skills.
• Computer literate; CMMS experience advantageous.
• Valid driver’s licence and own reliable transport.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair plumbing, drainage, water reticulation, sanitation, and hot water systems
• Maintain pumps, geysers, boilers, water tanks, and pressure systems
• Lead, supervise, and mentor plumbers, junior staff, and apprentices
• Conduct preventative maintenance, inspections, and emergency repairs
• Assist with plumbing projects, renovations, and refurbishments
• Supervise contractors and ensure quality, safety, and regulatory compliance
• Manage plumbing tools, materials, stock, and maintenance records
• Ensure minimal disruption to guests and hotel operations
• Participate in the standby/on-call roster as required
