Job summary

QE Services IT Recruitment is seeking a Senior Test Automation Engineer in Cape Town to drive automation excellence across enterprise platforms. You will design, build, and maintain robust automation frameworks using Playwright, TypeScript and JavaScript, ensuring scalable, high‑quality testing across digital systems.

You will integrate automation into CI/CD pipelines, collaborate with Developers, BAs and Product Owners to ensure full test coverage, and mentor junior testers while uplifting QA

Qualifications

• Extensive experience designing and implementing automation test strategies.
• Hands-on with Playwright, TypeScript and JavaScript.
• Strong API, UI, and integration testing experience.
• Proficient in CI/CD integration and test automation in distributed teams.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain automation frameworks using Playwright.
• Build and execute end-to-end, regression, and integration automation suites.
• Develop automation scripts using TypeScript / JavaScript.
• Integrate automation into CI/CD pipelines to support continuous testing.
• Collaborate with Developers, BAs, and Product Owners to ensure full test coverage.
• Perform API, UI, and integration testing across multiple systems.
• Identify, log, and manage defects using Azure DevOps.
• Drive test automation best practices and standards across the QA team.
• Mentor junior automation testers and contribute to QA capability uplift.
