Job Description

Provide assistance to the Ore Processing Engineer and Section Manager in Metallurgical Quality Control & Assurance at Venetia Mine Treatment Plant, supporting production teams with technical expertise.

This includes initiating continuous improvement projects to meet production budgets and ensuring plant readiness for LOM treatment profile. The Senior Plant Metallurgist supports the metallurgical team via the Ore Processing Engineer to deliver services to Section Managers.

Key Responsibilities

1. Ensure compliance with legal, safety, environmental, and hygiene standards within your responsibility area.
2. Plan, schedule, execute, and monitor work according to operational and statutory standards.
3. Identify improvement opportunities, develop business cases, and execute approved projects.
4. Analyze processing data, report findings, investigate barriers to quality, and implement mitigation plans.
5. Coordinate with maintenance, operational, and support staff to optimize plant performance.
6. Support production targets for tonnes treated and carats recovered.
7. Manage plant governance, audits, and ensure compliance with standards.
8. Maintain and update process documentation for the Treatment Plant.

Qualifications & Minimum Requirements

• Grade 12 or relevant NQF Level 4 qualification.
• BSc Engineering or B-Tech in Chemical Engineering or Metallurgy.
• At least 2 years' post-qualification experience in processing plants.
• Knowledge of LIMN modeling or Diamond Wizard is advantageous.
• Proficiency in Power BI report building.
• Valid EB / Code 08 Driver's License.
• Understanding of process flow in your area and the overall plant.
• Medical fitness certification for plant environment.
