Job Opportunity: Construction/Civils Planner in Cape Town

Our client, a progressive and established Construction company, is seeking a qualified and experienced Construction/Civils Planner for their team in Cape Town. This is an intensive planning role requiring experience in large-scale construction/structural projects, with proven expertise in CCS Candy and Primavera 6.

Key Responsibilities and Requirements
  1. Qualifications: Tertiary qualification in Construction/Civil Engineering, with 5+ years' experience in project planning for large-scale building and construction projects, preferably on-site.
  2. Technical Skills: Proven experience interpreting scope of work, drawings, and Bill of Quantities to develop realistic project schedules.
  3. Software Proficiency: Experience in CCS Candy, advanced Excel, and Primavera software.
  4. Planning Expertise: Ability to measure 'end value,' develop quantifiable activities, and formulate chains of activities and responsibilities.
  5. Contract Knowledge: Extensive knowledge of JBCC contracts, specifically regarding 'extension of time claims' and impact analysis on schedules.
  6. Skills: Above-average interpersonal skills, good report writing, flexibility to work both in office and on-site, with strong problem-solving and numerical skills.
