SENIOR PHASE MATHEMATICS TEACHER

Crossroads School, founded in 1966, is a remedial, co-educational, English-medium preparatory school situated in Victory Park, Johannesburg. We will be moving into our new purpose-built Middle School accommodation in January.

We are looking forward to inviting applications from qualified, passionate and dynamic Senior Phase Mathematics Teachers. The successful candidate will be committed to inclusive education and demonstrate the ability to deliver engaging, curriculum-aligned lessons that meet the needs of diverse learners and to ignite their curiosity and love for mathematics and learning.

The successful candidate must:

• Be SACE registered, have a police clearance, sexual offenders register clearance, and child protection register check.
• Possess a minimum of five years teaching experience.
• Have suitable experience in the use of technology as an enhancement to teaching and learning.
• Have a thorough knowledge of the CAPS curriculum and Senior Phase expectations.
• Engage proactively in the co-curricular and extra-mural life of the school.
• Collaborate with colleagues to create a positive and inclusive learning environment that promotes learner success.
• Be a child-centred educationalist with strong interpersonal skills, able to work successfully as part of a multidisciplinary team and develop parent partnerships.
• Provide personalised support and guidance to learners, nurturing their academic, social, and emotional development.
• Utilise innovative teaching methodologies and differentiation to enhance the learning experience and meet the diverse needs of learners.
• Demonstrate strong classroom management strategies.
• Be proactive in keeping up to date with the trends in remedial education and adolescent development.

The following will be advantageous:

• A background in remedial school settings or working with learners with barriers to learning would be highly advantageous.
• A second specialism or subject interest.
