About the Role

Our client, a leading global pharmaceutical company, is seeking an experienced Senior Pharmaceutical Supply Chain Manager to oversee and optimize their supply chain operations in Randburg, Gauteng. This pivotal role involves managing the end-to-end supply chain, from raw material procurement to finished product distribution, ensuring efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and regulatory compliance. You will lead a team responsible for inventory management, logistics, demand forecasting, and supplier relationships. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of pharmaceutical supply chain complexities, strong leadership capabilities, and excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. This hybrid role offers a blend of on-site collaboration and remote work flexibility, allowing for effective management of operations within Randburg.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and manage an integrated supply chain strategy to support business objectives.
• Oversee procurement of raw materials, intermediates, and finished goods, ensuring timely availability and cost optimization.
• Manage inventory levels across the supply chain to meet demand while minimizing holding costs and obsolescence.
• Direct and coordinate logistics operations, including transportation, warehousing, and distribution of pharmaceutical products.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, sales, and R&D teams to ensure accurate demand forecasting and production planning.
• Establish and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers and logistics providers, negotiating favorable terms and service level agreements.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant pharmaceutical regulations (e.g., GDP, import/export controls) and internal policies.
• Lead and develop the supply chain team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and high performance.
• Identify and mitigate supply chain risks, implementing robust contingency plans.
• Utilize supply chain planning tools and technologies to enhance visibility and efficiency.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in supply chain management within the pharmaceutical or related industry.
• Proven expertise in strategic sourcing, demand planning, inventory management, and logistics.
• Strong understanding of pharmaceutical supply chain regulations and best practices (e.g., Good Distribution Practices).
• Excellent leadership, team management, and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in supply chain planning software (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and advanced Excel skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a data-driven approach.
