Placements24 is seeking a Senior Pharmaceutical Research Scientist to lead remote R&D efforts in drug discovery. You will drive conceptualization to preclinical work, collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver novel therapies.

The role emphasizes independent project management, strong publication/patent records, and mentoring junior researchers in a remote-first environment.

Qualifications

• PhD in a life science field (Pharmacology, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology) or related discipline.
• 7+ years post-doc/industry R&D experience in pharma research and development.
• Proven drug discovery and development track record with publications or patents.
• Hands-on molecular and cellular biology with cell-based assays, protein expression, gene editing.
• Strong PK/PD understanding and data-driven decision making.
• Excellent written and verbal communication for remote collaboration.

Responsabilités

• Design and execute experiments on novel drug targets and mechanisms.
• Analyze data and guide future research directions based on results.
• Develop and validate new research methodologies and assays.
• Collaborate with medicinal chemistry, toxicology and clinical teams.
• Prepare reports, presentations and manuscripts for review and publication.
• Monitor literature and industry trends to inform projects.
• Contribute to IP portfolio via disclosures and patent filings.
• Mentor junior scientists and provide technical guidance.
