About the Role

Our client, a dynamic pharmaceutical company, is seeking a highly experienced Senior Pharmaceutical Project Manager to lead and coordinate complex drug development projects from inception through to regulatory submission and launch. This crucial role is based in Benoni, Gauteng, ZA , and requires a strategic thinker with a proven track record in managing cross-functional teams and diverse project portfolios within the pharmaceutical industry. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. Key Responsibilities

Oversee the planning, execution, and successful completion of pharmaceutical development projects. Define project scope, objectives, deliverables, and success criteria in collaboration with stakeholders. Develop and manage detailed project plans, timelines, budgets, and resource allocation. Lead and motivate cross-functional project teams, including R&D, Clinical Operations, Regulatory Affairs, and Manufacturing. Identify, assess, and manage project risks and develop mitigation strategies. Facilitate effective communication and collaboration among project team members and stakeholders. Monitor project progress, report on status, and implement corrective actions as needed. Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory requirements and company SOPs throughout the project lifecycle. Manage external vendors and partnerships relevant to project success. Contribute to the continuous improvement of project management processes and methodologies.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in a scientific discipline (e.g., Pharmacy, Chemistry, Biology) or equivalent experience. PMP certification is highly desirable. Minimum of 6-8 years of progressive experience in pharmaceutical project management. Demonstrated success in managing complex, multi-disciplinary projects in drug development. Strong understanding of pharmaceutical R&D, manufacturing, and regulatory affairs processes. Expertise in project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall). Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills. Proven ability to manage budgets and resources effectively. Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities. Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Asana). Must be able to work within the Benoni, Gauteng, ZA region, with flexibility for hybrid working arrangements.
