Placements24 is seeking a Senior Pharmaceutical Microbiologist for our client’s advanced lab in Mahikeng, North West. You will lead microbiological investigations, oversee environmental monitoring, validate methods, and ensure compliance with GMP and regulatory guidelines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Microbiology, Biology, or related life science field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in pharmaceutical microbiology, with at least 2 years in a senior or lead capacity.
• In-depth knowledge of aseptic techniques, microbial enumeration, identification, and sterility testing.
• Experience with environmental monitoring, validation of microbiological methods, and OOS investigations.
• Familiarity with GMP, USP/EP/BP/JP pharmacopeial methods, and relevant regulatory guidelines.
• Proficiency in laboratory information management systems (LIMS) is advantageous.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Must be legally authorized to work in South Africa.

Responsabilités

• Perform a variety of microbiological tests on raw materials, in-process samples, finished products, and environmental samples.
• Develop, validate, and transfer microbiological methods according to regulatory guidelines.
• Conduct investigations into out-of-specification (OOS) results and environmental excursions.
• Implement and manage environmental monitoring programs for manufacturing areas.
• Assess the microbial risk associated with products and processes.
• Provide microbiological expertise and support to manufacturing and quality assurance teams.
• Stay current with advancements in microbiology, aseptic processing, and regulatory requirements.
• Maintain laboratory equipment and ensure calibration and qualification.
• Prepare detailed reports, documentation, and contribute to regulatory submissions.
• Mentor junior microbiologists and contribute to a culture of scientific excellence in Mahikeng, North West.
