Placements24 is seeking a Senior Petrophysicist to strengthen its technical team in Port Elizabeth, focusing on subsurface evaluations in the Oil & Gas sector. The candidate will analyze well log data to derive rock and fluid properties essential for reservoir characterization and hydrocarbon volume assessment.

The role requires extensive experience in interpreting wireline and LWD logs, developing petrophysical models, and integrating data across geological, seismic, and engineering datasets,

Qualifications

• 7+ years of petrophysics experience, preferably in an E&P company.
• Proficiency with Techlog and GeoGraphix.
• Strong understanding of logging tools physics and data acquisition.

Responsibilities

• Perform detailed analysis and interpretation of wireline and LWD logs.
• Determine reservoir properties: porosity, permeability, saturation, lithology.
• Develop and validate petrophysical models for various settings.
• Integrate petrophysical data with geological, seismic and engineering information.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Geology, Geophysics, Physics, or a related scientific discipline.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in petrophysics, preferably within an E&P company.
• Proficiency with industry-standard petrophysical software packages (e.g., Techlog, GeoGraphix).
• Strong understanding of logging tools physics and data acquisition principles.
• Excellent analytical skills and ability to synthesize complex information.
• Experience with carbonates and clastics reservoir characterization is essential.
