Title: Account Manager - Gauteng Enterprise

Job Description: Netstar is looking for Account Managers for our SMB (Small to Medium Business) Segment. These Account Managers will focus on achieving their sales targets from within existing accounts only.

As an Account Manager for this segment, you will be required to build a strong relationship with the existing client base to ensure there are upgrades, add-ons, and wallet share growth. Your role will also entail assisting the Sales Consultants / Hunters by sending new business leads their way for conclusion.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. An account manager must achieve his/her allocated targets monthly.
  2. An account manager has to build strong relationships with his/her allocated databases in order to understand the needs of the client/s and to assist with additional solutions to cater for those needs.
  3. An account manager should assist his/her allocated client base with upgrades and add-ons.
  4. An account manager should be the link between Netstar and his/her allocated clients to assist/direct queries to the relevant departments – providing timely feedback to the client.
  5. Identify and facilitate sales and business growth opportunities and constantly keep the commercial goals on the operations leadership team's radar.
  6. Drive collaboration across industries and service lines, including collaboration, performance, cross and upsell opportunities.
  7. Ensure the effective implementation of strategies and plans through thought leadership to ensure that the highest level of performance is achieved, and objectives are met.
  8. Maintain an extensive network of internal and external contacts to ensure that the Account is optimally managed in its understanding of business, economic and commercial challenges and opportunities.
  9. Lead relationship building initiatives with Principal Vendors including playing the lead role in negotiations with respect to pricing, procurement, and inventory control.
  10. Account Managers perform 2 primary roles:
  11. Account Management is the day-to-day attention to and smooth running of their Account(s), delighting the client(s) with good customer service in all aspects of administration and delivery of service.
  12. Account Development is managing the Account like a marketplace, constantly finding and closing additional business, becoming more entrenched and maximizing 'share of wallet'.

Providing 'thought leadership' and being more and more of a 'trusted advisor' to the client. Account Managers require 3 'Bodies of Knowledge': Know the Account's Industry/Business, Know the Account, Know your Company, its Offerings, and its Capabilities.

Core Responsibilities:

  1. Ensure that appropriate governance systems are in place and in line with future requirements, i.e. policies, procedures, and reporting structures.
  2. Continually assess the competitiveness of all operations programs and practices against the relevant comparable companies, industries, and markets.
  3. Stay up-to-date of new trends and innovations in operations.
  4. Manage business risk, through continuous internal and external monitoring of business impact, as well as changes in stakeholder needs.
  5. Lead and guide improvement projects that will increase profits or protect against risks in the function.
  6. Establish and maintain the highest ethical standards in operations practices.
  7. Ensure that the business unit is fully compliant with all Altron initiatives through conducting regular audits and taking corrective action.

Qualifications, Experience, & Skills:

Educational Qualifications: Business Management degree or equivalent qualification.

Years of Experience: At least 3 years progressive experience within a professional services business, including the demonstrated ability to manage, deliver and grow Accounts. At least 3 years solutions sales experience with a documented successful track record in selling high-end services, rich and complex IT solutions in the relevant industry.
