Job summary

Impact HR is seeking a Payroll Compliance Manager to lead the payroll function for 1600+ employees in South Africa. You will oversee end-to-end payroll operations, ensure timely remuneration, and mentor payroll staff.

The role requires strong knowledge of SARS, UIF, PAYE, BCEA, policy design and system management of ACCSYS Peopleware. You will collaborate with HR and Finance to align payroll with business goals and maintain audit-ready documentation.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years’ senior payroll or finance roles.
• Minimum 8 years’ experience managing a payroll or finance team.
• Working experience on ACCSYS Peopleware is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Lead the entire payroll function and coordinate with HR, Finance and department heads to meet deadlines.
• Train, mentor and supervise payroll administrators and manage performance and capacity.
• Collaborate with HR, Finance and executives to align payroll with business goals.
• Interface with auditors and statutory bodies for queries and audits.
• Ensure compliance with local labour laws and tax filings (EMP201/501).
• Oversee benefits governance including retirement funds and medical aid.
