Job summary

Red Ember Recruitment (PTY) Ltd in Sandton, South Africa, is seeking a Payroll Administrator to join our client's team in the North of Johannesburg. You will develop systems to process payroll transactions, coordinate timekeeping, and oversee payroll changes and upgrades.

You will liaise with auditors, collaborate with HR and accounting teams, maintain records, and respond to payroll-related queries, ensuring accuracy and compliance with applicable laws and multi-location payroll requirements.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Payroll Administrator or similar role.
• Knowledge of payroll procedures and related laws.
• Excellent understanding of multi-location payroll and taxes.
• Familiarity with payroll software / HRIS SAGE 300 and MS Office, especially Excel.
• Analytical mind and good math skills.
• Outstanding communication skills (written and oral).

Responsibilities

• Develop systems to process payroll account transactions (e.g. salaries, benefits, garnishments, deductions, taxes and third-party payments).
• Coordinate timekeeping and payroll systems.
• Oversee processing of payroll changes (e.g. new hires, terminations, raises) and system upgrades.
• Liaise with auditors and manage payroll audits.
• Collaborate with Human Resources (HR) and accounting teams.
• Maintain accurate records and prepare reports.
• Resolve issues and answer payroll-related questions.
