Duties and Responsibilities:- Responsible for completion of the master production pattern for various size ranges and design silhouettes.
- Responsible to create basic blocks for all fabric types in various silhouettes
- Create patterns from design sketch on a computer (via manipulation of blocks or adjustment of the existing pattern) to achieve the desired style and correct fit.
- Ensure that each pattern is developed within the set standards of size, construction methods and pattern making quality standards.
- Check each pattern for accuracy throughout the process and quality of each pattern.
- Assess garments once made up from a pattern for quality of workmanship & fit
- Be able to advise the factory of alternative construction methods and pattern engineering to obtain a better fit.
- Work with internal teams to be able to develop or send block patterns to suppliers to base new styling and fit on.
- Be able to build and maintain a library of patterns in computer from suppliers to ensure their pattern is according to fabric reaction and is correct at PPS stage.
- Meeting with designers to review the final product.
- Tweaking the pattern and filing the design.
- Potentially oversee all the patternmakers.
Requirements:- Experience as a Patternmaker in the fashion/clothing industry
- Minimum 2 - 4 years’ experience working on Lectra
- Must be able to Grade own patterns
