Senior Paper Cup Setter

DESCRIPTION/SYNOPSIS:

This reputable manufacturing company in Cape Town is looking for an experienced Senior Paper Cup Setter to join their Paper Cup Manufacturing team. This vital role is responsible for overseeing the setup and operation of flexographic printing, die cutting, and cup forming machinery while leading a team of operators and setters. The successful candidate will bring technical expertise, leadership capabilities, and a strong focus on efficiency and quality in a fast-paced production environment. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

• Matric (Grade 12)
• NQF Level 3-4 Technical Certification in Mechanical Engineering or related field
• 5+ years of manufacturing experience, with 2-3 years in a setter role
• Proven leadership or supervisory experience in a production environment
• Qualified Flexographic Printer with Die Cutting Experience
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications
• Knowledge of manufacturing safety protocols and procedures

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Set up and operate printing, die cutting, and cup forming machines to specification
• Lead and guide setters, operators, and packers on the production floor
• Troubleshoot machine and tooling issues swiftly to minimize downtime
• Optimize production processes for greater efficiency and waste reduction
• Enforce quality and colour standards to meet customer expectations
• Collaborate with QA to resolve quality concerns and execute corrective actions
• Manage maintenance schedules and ensure proper equipment servicing
• Promote a safety-first culture and ensure full compliance with safety standards
• Work with Planning to create efficient production schedules
• Monitor workflow, identify bottlenecks, and take action to meet deadlines
• Maintain records of machine settings, production stats, and maintenance logs
• Compile and submit regular performance reports (efficiency, yield, downtime)
