Job summary

Ad Talent Africa is seeking a Senior Packaging Designer in Cape Town to lead brand and packaging design across multiple clients. You will concept, develop and deliver production-ready artwork with strong print knowledge and 3D renders for client presentations.

The role requires mentoring junior designers and coordinating with cross-functional teams while ensuring brand consistency and high-quality output under tight deadlines.

Qualifications

• A degree or diploma in Graphic Design or Art Direction is required.
• Minimum 6 years of graphic design experience focused on brand and packaging.
• Strong conceptual, creative, and design skills.
• Proven experience delivering final production-ready artwork.
• Excellent knowledge of print production and technical standards.
• Proficiency with Illustrator, InDesign and Photoshop.
• Ability to create 3D mockups and renders.
• Attention to detail and ability to multitask under deadlines.

Responsibilities

We are looking for a conceptually strong Senior Packaging Designer with at least 6 years of experience in brand and packaging design, from initial concept development through to final production-ready artwork. The ideal candidate has a strong creative eye, excellent technical print knowledge and the ability to mentor junior designers while delivering high-quality work across multiple brands.

• Proven experience taking concepts through to final production-ready artwork
• Excellent knowledge of print production and technical standards
• Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, InDesign and Photoshop
• Ability to create 3D mockups and renders
• Photo retouching and editing skills would be advantageous
• Excellent attention to detail, organisation and time management
• Ability to multitask, work under pressure and meet deadlines
• Strong communication skills, a collaborative mindset and a positive, can-do attitude
