Job Title: Operations Manager

Salary: R50,000 – R80,000 per month (Depending on Experience)

Job Purpose:

We are seeking an experienced and strategic Operations Manager to oversee our Cape Town operations. This senior role is pivotal to ensuring the seamless and cost-effective execution of logistics, warehousing, and transportation services while maintaining compliance, safety, and service standards.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Oversee day-to-day operations, including transportation, warehousing, and fleet management.
2. Develop and implement operational strategies to optimize efficiency and reduce costs.
3. Ensure compliance with all regulatory and company policies regarding transport and logistics.
4. Lead and mentor a team of supervisors, drivers, and warehouse staff to maintain high performance.
5. Monitor KPIs and operational metrics; analyze performance data and drive improvements.
6. Manage client relationships and ensure service levels are met or exceeded.
7. Collaborate with senior leadership on budgeting, forecasting, and business planning.
8. Drive HSE (Health, Safety & Environmental) compliance and continuous improvement initiatives.
9. Ensure accurate and timely reporting on operational activities and incidents.

Minimum Requirements:

1. Matric (Grade 12) + Bachelor’s Degree/Diploma in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
2. 8+ years of experience in operations management, preferably in the logistics/transport sector.
3. Proven leadership experience in a senior management role.
4. Sound understanding of fleet and warehouse operations.
5. Strong knowledge of logistics software, tracking systems, and route optimization.
6. Familiarity with relevant South African transport and labor regulations.
7. Excellent communication, negotiation, and organizational skills.
8. Ability to work under pressure and make critical decisions.
