The COO will be responsible for managing and leading core operations, including Operations (Client Services & Funds), Regions, Communications, Industry compliance, and National Technical Training.
The COO is responsible for ensuring optimal performance, risk management, cost control, and plays a pivotal role in achieving the organization's vision and mission.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Labour Law and Compliance Management: Ensure adherence and compliance to industry collective agreements, Labour Relations Act, Pension Funds Act, and other relevant legislation. Take corrective actions promptly when variances arise. Ensure compliance with pension fund and Labour Relations Act requirements, service level agreements, Financial Sector Conduct Authority standards, and other applicable laws.
- Budget Development and Financial Management: Oversee financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, and reporting. Aim for financial sustainability and accountability.
- Customer Experience & Satisfaction: Provide efficient service, meet or exceed customer expectations, and optimize processes to enhance client experience.
- Operations Management: Align operational plans with strategic objectives, ensure effective processes, compliance, and oversee key projects and resource allocation.
- Reporting: Ensure timely, accurate communication of financial and operational data. Provide detailed reports to leadership for decision-making.
- Leadership, People Development, and Performance Analysis: Foster a high-performance culture, oversee talent development, and ensure accurate operational reporting.
- Risk Management: Lead risk management activities, identify potential risks, ensure compliance, and implement mitigation systems.
- Strategic Planning: Collaborate on strategic plan development and monitor effectiveness.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Build relationships with stakeholders, support wage negotiations, and external engagements.
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Relevant degree in Business Administration, Finance, Law, Compliance, Labour, or related field.
- 5+ years in a COO or senior leadership role.
- People management experience with large, diverse teams.
- Bargaining Council experience.
- Strong administrative and computer literacy skills.
