Placements24 is seeking a Senior Online Mathematics Educator for a fully remote role across South Africa. You will deliver engaging math lessons, develop curricula, assess students, and mentor junior educators within a dynamic ed-tech environment.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's in Mathematics or Mathematics Education, a teaching qualification (PGCE or equivalent), and at least five years of teaching, including online experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Mathematics Education, or closely related field.
• Master's degree is advantageous.
• Recognised teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE or equivalent).

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging and interactive mathematics lessons to students remotely via our online platform.
• Develop and refine lesson plans, course materials, and assessment strategies.
• Provide individualized student support, including feedback on assignments and progress monitoring.
• Facilitate online discussions and collaborative learning activities.
• Collaborate with curriculum development team to update course content.
• Mentor and guide junior online educators, sharing best practices and feedback.
• Utilise digital tools and multimedia resources to create a stimulating learning environment.
• Maintain accurate student records and communicate with guardians regarding progress.
• Stay updated on trends in online education and mathematics pedagogy.

Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Mathematics Education, or a closely related field.
• A Master's degree is advantageous.
• A recognized teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE or equivalent).
• Minimum of 5 years of teaching experience, with at least 2 years specifically in online or remote education.
• Proven experience in developing and delivering engaging mathematics curriculum for secondary or tertiary levels.
• Proficiency in using Learning Management Systems (LMS) and other educational technology tools (e.g., Zoom, Google Classroom, interactive whiteboards).
• Excellent understanding of various online teaching methodologies and student engagement strategies.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a passion for making mathematics accessible and enjoyable.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and meet deadlines in a remote setting.
