Job summary

Gauteng Department of Health seeks a senior Dietetics leader to oversee the Human Nutrition Department at Charlotte Maxeke Johannesburg Academic Hospital. You will implement clinical strategies, develop plans, and manage budgets and staff to meet targets.

Role requires HPCSA registration in Dietetics, 3+ years post-registration, and strong leadership, financial, and communication skills within a public health setting.

Qualifications

• Qualified to register with HPCSA in Dietetics, with HPCSA Dietetics registration.
• Minimum 3 years post-registration experience in Dietetics.
• 10 years in Dietetics in academia is an added advantage.
• Minimum 5 years management experience.
• Knowledge of management, financial management, and public service legislation.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; computer literacy; teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Implement clinical strategies and plans for the Human Nutrition Department.
• Develop operational and demand plans aligned with organizational goals.
• Establish standard operating procedures to meet objectives.
• Plan the budget and ensure resources meet output targets.
• Maintain HR plans and ensure effective staff utilization.
• Ensure PMDS is implemented and manage human resources per PFMA.
• Monitor liaison with district and national targets; ensure risk management.
• Ensure compliance with HPCSA, National Core Standards and Ideal Hospital program.
• Promote staff development, training, and confidentiality in patient care.
• Recruit appropriate personnel and support procurement decisions.
• Oversee food service management and service delivery standards.
