Job summary

Humankind Group, a leading telecommunications and network infrastructure organisation in South Africa, seeks a senior network executive to own the performance, architecture and evolution of a carrier-grade network across RAN, Core and transport.

You will define end-to-end architectures, own network performance KPIs, mentor teams, engage vendors, and drive automation and interoperability across legacy and 5G transitions. This role demands deep technical leadership and delivery accountability.

Qualifications

• Degree or Diploma in Telecommunications, Engineering, IT or a related field.
• 10+ years’ telecoms and network operations experience.
• Strong 5G Core, RAN, transport and systems operations experience.
• Experience within ISP or carrier-grade environments.
• Advanced troubleshooting and incident management capability.
• Knowledge of automation, scripting and monitoring platforms.
• Vendor certifications (Huawei, Nokia, Ericsson, Cisco, Juniper) advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Define and contribute to end-to-end network architecture across RAN, IP and backhaul, supporting evolution from LTE to 5G and FWA enhancements.
• Own network performance KPIs, including availability, throughput, latency and congestion, and lead monitoring and reporting frameworks.
• Lead capacity planning and dimensioning, with input into site design, RF parameters and technology selection.
• Act as technical lead in vendor engagements, reviewing designs and driving accountability on SLAs, performance commitments and delivery timelines.
• Ensure seamless integration and interoperability across RAN, Core and IP networks, spanning new and legacy technologies.
• Identify and mitigate performance risks, capacity constraints and technical bottlenecks, and provide technical input into SLAs and acceptance criteria.
• Provide technical leadership to RF planners, NOC and field teams, and build a high-performance network optimisation capability.
